Paul and I met through our friends. His friend was dating, (eventually married) my roomate. Paul had been transferred to Twin Falls to open a new restaurant. We met and became casual friends as he came over all the time with his friend. Paul was a little more sure of how things were going to turn out than I was. He even asked another roommate of mine if she thought that it was a waste of time to chase me. She told him yes. Luckily, he didn't listen to her. While still trying to get "my attention" he did one of the sweetest things. It was Valentine's Day and Paul hadn't received his paycheck due to a paperwork error. He has wanted to ask me out on our first real date and make it special. Without thinking, he went straight to a check-cashing place and got a small loan on his paycheck. When he came to my apartment that afternoon, he found out that I had already been asked out by another guy who was going to be there in just a couple of hours. Paul stayed and helped me

I took Joella down to Salt Lake City to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square. We walked around enjoying the beautiful lights until we came by the fountain. We stood there and talked for a while. I kept waiting for everyone else who was there to go away but as soon as one would go another would come. I finally took her by the hand and looked into here eyes. With my other hand I reached into my pocket and pulled the box with the ring out. I tried and tried to get the box open with one hand, but something was stuck. So I kept talking to here and looking into her eyes trying to get the stupid box opened. It finally cracked open and I was able to ask her how much she loved me. I asked here if she would be willing to love forever and raised the ring up and gave it to her. She said yes immediately.

We know that marriage is a big step for both of us. But we also know that it is what we both want more than anything in the world. Someone once said that, "All good things must come an end and give way to something better." This is how we feel about joining our lives as one before God. While we have both had terrific lives up to this point, the joy and happiness will be greater together than alone.
